Orphanage Outreach Volunteer Program!
Volunteers are the heart of Orphanage Outreach. Since 1994, over 7000 volunteers have joined us in the Dominican Republic, including 1250 in 2008 alone. In addition to the orphanages we work with, we have also "adopted" the local communities. Our volunteers teach English in local schools and the Orphanage Outreach English Institute, provide medical and dental care, teach public health classes, teach literacy, provide summer camps, and more. High School teams, college teams, church teams, families, and individuals are invited to join us in the Dominican Republic. Grade school classrooms are invited to participate in our "Book the Future" program, and middle school classrooms are invited to join our "Serve and Learn" virtual service trip. Sign up today!
College Program more info
An Orphanage Outreach trip is a great option for a college alternative break team. You are invited to join us any week or weeks of the year. During the school year, our college teams are usually focused on teaching English in local Dominican grade schools. During holiday weeks and over the summer, the teams provide learning camps to children.
High School Program more info
An Orphanage Outreach trip is an excellent alternative break experience for high school teams. Your trip with Orphanage Outreach is primarily a service-learning trip. Your team will be involved in providing opportunities to orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children. They may be teaching English in a local grade school, tutoring orphanage children, or building needed facilities. Many high school students have told us their week with Orphanage Outreach was the most impactful week of their life.
Churches more info
Orphanage Outreach invites your church to join us for a short term mission trip to the Dominican Republic. We have many opportunities to work with the churches and communities of the northwestern part of the Dominican Republic. You are invited to join us any week of the year.
Families more info
An Orphanage Outreach trip is an excellent family volunteer vacation! Children of all ages do well on the trip, and make a difference. And the trip makes a difference to them.
Individuals more info
Although you may see many high school and college teams mentioned on our web site, we have many opportunities for individuals of all ages and backgrounds to join us.

Friends of Orphanage Outreach Donor Program
If volunteers are the heart of Orphanage Outreach, then donors are our lifeblood. Orphanage Outreach is more than a service travel program. We have real responsibilities, and our donors make it possible. We are currently funding the basic necessities and educational needs at two orphanages, the college education of four former orphanage children, and the Orphanage Outreach English Institute for 5th-8th graders. Project funds include construction projects and "Project Green" - energy, food, and water self-sufficiency projects. Become a monthly or annual sponsor today!

February through April is a great time to volunteer with Orphanage Outreach. Our education program is in high gear; we have volunteers teaching English and other classes in many of the local schools. It's a great opportunity for high school and college teams/individuals to make a tremendous impact.

2009/2010 Health Corps Program
We have an active program for health professionals and students in health related majors/minors to be involved in both public health education and clinics. Public health education and overall health care are certainly high needs in the Dominican Republic and we offer several opportunities for health educators, pre-dental students, pre-medical students, dentists and doctors to get involved and make a difference. Although there are opportunities to get involved year-round, during the weeks of February 20th - March 20th, we will be conducting medical and dental clinics.
